September 2013
Yeah, yeah. It’s been a while. Sorry.
So, we’ve been hard at it, Steve Floyd and I. Although the Summer threw up some challenges relating to a combination of work, family and other commitments we’ve still pushed hard at the Project. We didn’t get to meet face-to-face to rehearse and jam as often as we’d like, but we’ve kept a steady stream of music flowing between us through the ether and gradually it has taken shape.
The wonder of the Internet Age, particularly for an electronic band like ours, is that you can do most things remotely by the simple trick of email stuff back and forth. It lacks the magic of a real rehearsal, but it also does let you concentrate on your bit of the work without distractions.
Anyway, the Project’s songs have changed somewhat since Day One. New stuff has been created, things have been made then scrapped then made again and ideas have floated up from the murky depths to emerge to clarity.
The current track list for our forthcoming “album” is :-
1/ Blast From The Past
2/ Caged
3/ Lament
4/ Recession
5/ Skeleton Corps
6/ State Of Love
7/ The Shape Of Things To Come
8/ Vampire
9/ Waiting For The Storm
10/ Winning Ways
11/ Thief
Yep, a full eleven songs! Rather more than we’d originally planned and there will be several “Easter Egg” mini songs on there too including (probably) Four Leaf Clover, These Goodbyes and something technically astonishing from Steve Floyd (if I know him at all!)
We are only a couple of weeks away from full release. All we really need to do now is put a weekend aside for a full remix of the recorded versions we have and we’re ready to roll. How about that? A project finished, on time, on budget and with more content that originally planned! Cool beans.
Anyhow, you can have a listen to a couple of the “early mixes” of one or two of these tracks on the front page of this site. Don’t be shy – write and tell us what you think. As long as its not just “why don’t you fuck off” or similar. 🙂
